Our Mission:

Build a kinder, nerdier, more imaginative world.

The Big-Brained Superheroes Club is on a mission to tap into the hidden strengths that live within all young people, such as kindness and critical thinking, through the exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM).

The Program

The Big-Brained Superheroes Club, an after-school program at Yesler Community Center in Seattle, WA, encourages Big Brains to build valuable skills in essential fields including Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM). Through the visualization and creation of their own works of art and science, Big Brains learn how to consider both how and why the world works and how to make it better. Combined with Real-Life Superpowers like Teamwork, Leadership and Kindness, Big Brains become mighty forces for good in their community and in the world!

Who We Are

As a community-based, community-driven program, The Big-Brained Superheroes Club is run mostly by Big Brain moms and young adults from the Yesler Terrace neighborhood. Our volunteer sidekicks are do-gooding nerds from Seattle with ties across the globe.

Learn More About Us

The Big-Brained Superheroes Club provides me with a community within a community— a place where I can grow and explore the impossible, or what I thought to be impossible.
